The Global Forum of Spiritual Healing

Healing / Healer The Future Dates Letters Associate Organisations / Groups Press Release

Introduction

The Global Forum of Spiritual Healing was established in November 2000. It's aim is to speak on behalf of the Voluntary Spiritual Healer. For the past few years , we have heard numerous rumours that the Government is going to impose legislation on Spiritual Healing and more generally Complementary Medicine.

The House of Lords Science and Technology Committee formed a Select formed a Select Committee to explore Complementary Therapies. In November 2000 , a report was submitted to the Goverment.

The Department of Health clearly states that the Government has no plans to legislate on Spiritual Healing. However , it does encourage voluntary self - regulation and the standardisation of training. All practitioners must also be adequately insured.

The Global Forum is made up of organisations / groups practising Spiritual Healing as their primary therapy. It is important for the future of Spiritual Healing that as many trained Spiritual Healers as possible are represented by the Global Forum via their organisation or group. The Global Forum seeks to work from practitioner level upwards and not from the top down. The Global Forum aims to be fair , transparent and consistent , and will always try to work by consensus. It must have some fundamental rules that will ensure that a strong foundation is laid , so enabling a good base to buold upon.

Clear aims and objectives are the means of ensuring success

The Gobal Forum shall be open to all Spiritual Healing Organisations /Groups , working on an equal basis and with agreed aims and objects. To be associated with the Global Forum , Organisations /Groups must have the following in operation.

  1. The Organisation / Group must be representative of trained Spiritual Healers and must require a minimum criteria of training in order to become qualified as a Spiritual Healer and be eligible for entry onto the Register held by the Organisation / Group .

The Global Forum has also set - up a central database of Spiritual Healers from the organisations / groups participating , a nominal charge is made , in order to maintain the database. This is not a referral system , but for use by the organisations / groups via a coding system to ensure confidentiality. This will keep the centre informed of any changes in membership , or actions taken against any member. This will ultimately protect the public from any practitioner having been removed from the register of any organisations / groups , for whatever reason , then attempting to gain membership with another organisation or group.
